MADE FOR THE WESTERN CAPE
A simpler way to connect people who need a helping hand with people ready for a day's work.
DayWerk is preparing to bring local job requests, clear pay and agreed pickup together in one place.
See how DayWerk will work ↗HELP FOR THE JOB AT HAND
From a garden tidy-up to an extra pair of hands on moving day. The planned app will let customers select a category or describe other work.
Gardening, garden clearing, paving and car washing.
Painting, cleaning, tiling and plastering.
General labour, construction help and bricklaying.
Moving, loading, unloading, packing and stock handling.
Describe the seasonal tasks, conditions and experience needed.
Describe the job in your own words, including tools, hours and skills needed.
Specialist work requires appropriate skills and qualifications. A category listing does not certify a worker's qualifications.
THE PLANNED DAYWERK EXPERIENCE
Customers will post the task, area, date, hours, offered pay and equipment arrangements.
Workers will use their own mobile numbers, find suitable requests and accept or decline. Exact terms must be agreed before work starts.
Discuss transport and pickup privately, then confirm completion and leave a review through the app.
A customer and worker can propose a petrol station or garage and agree the location, time, vehicle and return transport. Both must confirm the arrangements. These are proposed meeting places, not DayWerk-approved safe locations or partner garages.
STRAIGHTFORWARD PRICING
Standard daily offer for up to eight ordinary working hours. Customers may offer more. Paid directly by the customer to the worker.
A separate platform fee per worker per day. Worker registration and applications will be free.
R300 worker pay plus R50 fee. Offering R400 to the worker makes the total R450.
Transport, materials and any required premium pay are agreed separately. Higher legally required pay applies. Payment activation is still being completed; this website collects no money.
LOCAL CONNECTIONS. PROVINCE-WIDE AMBITION.
From Cape Town and the Helderberg to the Cape Winelands, Overberg, West Coast, Garden Route and Central Karoo.
Planned coverage is across the province. Actual job and worker availability will depend on local participation after launch.
